NILES -- Pleasant Valley Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Road, is inviting anyone who is experiencing tough times to attend a tea to be held free of charge from noon to 2 p.m. June 2 at the church.
There will be a luncheon, a special gift, entertainment by the Gospel Echoes Quartet and by Mark Kennedy and Allisa Wargo, and a talk by Martie Kinsey.

Quilt show deadline set
SALEM -- The deadline for entering quilts in the Grandma's Attic Quilt Show to be sponsored United Quilt Guild is Saturday. The entry fee is 6.
To enter a quilt or doll in the event, go to www.neorqc.com; fill out the form and mail it to Miriam Good, 9941 Stratton Road, Salem, OH 44460.
The show will be held June 29 and 30 at Sebring McKinley High School, 225 E. Indiana Ave., Sebring.
Guild representedat PAHA conference
NEW CASTLE, Pa.-- Attending the Pennsylvania Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries spring conference May 8-10 at the Hilton Scranton and Conference Center in Scranton, Pa., as representatives of Jameson Junior Guild were Shirley McMillan, president; Marge Weyrick, vice president; Jean Kaba, hostess shop co-chairman; Ruth Ray, past PAHA president; and Diana Whittaker, Northwest Region PAHA president-elect.
Ray served as the PAHA nominating chairman, and Whittaker gave the invocation at the kick-off luncheon.
"Celebrating Our Accomplishments" was the theme for the conference that featured speakers and educational workshops.
Michael Broome was the keynote speaker. Paula A. Bussard, senior vice president, discussed state and federal issues and trends that impact the delivery of healthcare in Pennsylvania, and syndicated columnist, Heloise, provided her "Hints from A to Z."
