Youngstown man charged with robbery

BOARDMAN — An East Indianola Avenue man accused of violating parole for a Franklin County robbery charge has been arrested again, charged with this week's robbery of a South Avenue discount store.

Anthony Barnes, also known as Robert Perry, 36, was arrested Tuesday night by members of the U.S. Marshal's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force following an investigation by township police with assistance from Youngstown police.

Barnes, who was released from prison in September after robbery conviction out of Franklin County, was charged with aggravated robbery and receiving stolen property. He's accused of robbing the Family Dollar store on South Avenue on Monday afternoon. The car that Barnes drove from the store had been reported stolen out of Youngstown. Barnes is at the Mahoning County Justice Center.
