Warren man escapes indictment in death

WARREN -- A Trumbull County grand jury has refused to indict a Warren man charged with the shooting death of a Howland man near the Stonegate Place apartments near Tod and Robert avenues last month.
The grand jury declined to indict Marques M. Norman, 23, of Dover Street Southwest, after he was bound over to the grand jury by Warren Municipal Court Judge Thomas Gysegem.
Warren police charged Norman with murder, and he was held without bond until May 2, when Judge W. Wyatt McKay of common pleas court changed his bond to 50,000. Norman then posted bond and was released from the county jail.
Neither Judge McKay nor Chuck Morrow, an assistant county prosecutor, would say what the reason was for his bond reduction, but court records indicate he was scheduled for a polygraph test April 30. Morrow would not say whether Norman took the test.
Norman was accused in the shooting death of Jeremiah Cole, 22, of Deforest Road in Howland, who died of a gunshot wound to the head April 11.
