Stolen gun found during traffic stop

YOUNGSTOWN — Two arrests were made and a stolen gun confiscated around 1:30 a.m. today on the South Side when police checked a report of gunfire.

Albert L. Coffer, 18, of Glenwood Avenue was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and receiving stolen property. Randolph M. Jeter, 18, of Ferndale Avenue was charged with driving under suspension and released on the scene.

Police approached the Chevrolet Blazer Jeter was driving when he failed to signal a turn. Witnesses told police that the vehicle was not the vehicle involved in the gunfire on Ferndale. The pistol found under Coffer’s passenger seat had been taken in a burglary, police said.
