TROY, N.Y. -- Brunswick Presbyterian Church was the setting at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 2, 2006, as Abigail Swartz and Joshua Khoury were united in marriage by the Rev. Harry Heintz. A reception was held afterward at the church.
The couple spent their honeymoon at Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and live at 4645 Blackwatch Court, Virginia Beach.
Douglas and Mary Swartz, 428 Douglas St., Syracuse, are parents of the bride, and the groom is a son of Dan Khoury of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Linda Khoury, 3537 Arden Blvd., Youngstown.
Crystals and pearls adorned the bride's strapless ivory satin gown and train.
Merlot-colored gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Courtney Scharf and Juliana Bialek, the bridesmaids, Sarah Farnsworth, Andrea Rawlings and Kim Lampron. Flower girls were Hannah Brewer, a cousin of the groom; Lena Kiehl; and Elena Suarez, the bride's cousin.
Daniel Vissani performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Nathaniel Swartz, the bride's brother; Michael Sorber; David Roberts; and Zach Brewer, cousin of the groom. Ring bearer was Matthew Rigby.
The bride graduated from Russell Sage College in Troy with a bachelor's degree in English and a master's in teaching. She is a long-term substitute with Virginia Beach School District.
The groom earned a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy. He is an ensign with the U.S. Navy assigned to the USS Ross, stationed in Norfolk, Va.
