The Destination Imagination tournament was held recently at Youngstown State University and more than 490 school pupils from Mahoning and Trumbull counties participated. The competition was open for young people from age 5 through high school. It is a team creative problem-solving event which is held in 50 states nationally and 40 countries worldwide. Participants who placed first will go to state finals in New Albany, Ohio, on April 21. The first-place winners from state will go to the global competition at the University of Tennessee on May 21-24. Children ages 5 through second grade participated in a special "Rising Stars" category. The tournament winners, listed in order of finish, are:
