Stalking suspect arrestedat Michelle Branch show
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. -- A Maryland man accused of stalking Michelle Branch was arrested at her concert in Sheboygan this week after she spotted him in the crowd.
Branch, who was onstage, asked security personnel to approach him, witnesses said.
"Michelle Branch just said, 'Wait a second. There's a guy in the audience -- striped shirt and glasses -- can somebody check him out?"' said Cali Haas, 20, of Sheboygan, who was in the crowd. "It left everyone just so confused, like, 'Is this a joke, part of the show?"'
Dominick Giordano, 32, was cited for disorderly conduct after employees at the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts stopped him as he tried to run away, police said.
Branch apologized to the crowd and played her final song, Haas said.
Authorities said Giordano had been following Branch to concerts around the country since 2003 and regularly sends her letters and videos. "He used to get his way into meet-and-greets and private events somehow and would try to approach her and touch her and just really inappropriate stuff," said Branch's road manager, Joshua Scott.
iTunes lowers pricefor rest of the album
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Apple Inc., the company that popularized selling songs online for 99 cents apiece, now hopes to buoy interest in albums, giving customers credit for purchases of full albums from which they have bought individual tracks.
Apple introduced the "Complete My Album" feature Thursday on its iTunes Store. It now gives a full credit of 99 cents for every track the user previously purchased and applies it toward the purchase of the complete album.
Most albums on iTunes cost 9.99 so a customer who already bought three tracks can download the rest of the album for 7.02.
Previously, users who bought singles and later opted to buy the album had to pay the full price of the album and ended up with duplicates of those songs.
The album price reduction is good for only 180 days after the initial purchase of individual tracks.
Bono's new title
DUBLIN, Ireland -- Irish rock star and global humanitarian Bono became a knight of the British empire Thursday -- just don't call him 'sir.'
"You have permission to call me anything you want -- except sir, all right? Lord of lords, your demigodness, that'll do," Bono, 46, told reporters after he was crowned a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in a jokey, informal ceremony in the Dublin home of British Ambassador David Reddaway.
Reddaway paid tribute to Bono's work as a savvy campaigner against poverty and disease in Africa.
