SERVICES WITH THE NEW BISHOP Open to the public
Bishop George V. Murry, who was installed Wednesday as the fifth bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown, will preside at a prayer service this week and Holy Week services next week that are open to the public. All services will be at St. Columba Cathedral, Wood and Elm streets, Youngstown. The installation service was by invitation only. Other services are:
Friday: A prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by a reception.
Palm Sunday (April 1): 10:30 a.m. Mass.
Holy Thursday (April 5): 10:30 a.m. Chrism Mass at which Bishop Murry will consecrate the Sacred Chrism and bless the Oil of the Sick and the Oil of Catechumens. Mass of the Lord's Supper will be at 6 p.m.
Good Friday (April 6): Passion of the Lord service at 3 p.m.
Holy Saturday (April 7): Easter vigil at 8 p.m.
Easter Sunday (April 8:) Mass at 10:30 a.m.
Also, the installation liturgy will be re-broadcast on The Ecumenical Channel by Catholic Television Network at noon March 30 and April 25, 1 p.m. March 31 and April 21 and 8 p.m. April 10.
