Canfield motorcyclist seriously injured

AUSTINTOWN -- A 58-year-old Canfield man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding was hit broadside by a car at Mahoning Avenue and Fitch Boulevard.
The victim, Erwin Eddington of South Salem-Warren Road (state Route 45), was in critical condition Wednesday night in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the car, driven by Donna Klenitch, 71, of DeHoff Drive, was stopped southbound on Fitch at about 2:20 p.m. She pulled forward through the stop sign attempting to turn west on Mahoning and moved into the path of the motorcycle.
Eddington swerved to avoid the car, but his motorcycle was overturned by the impact and he was thrown off, the OSHP said.
No charges have been filed.
