Man identified in abduction case

CAMPBELL — A man originally booked as a “John Doe” on several charges, including abducting a 61-year-old Campbell woman, was eventually identified by city police as Ivory M. Young, 19, of Brentwood Avenue, Youngstown.

The victim told police the episode began at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday as she was walking to her Tremble Avenue home after work.

She said a man approached her and asked for a light for his cigarette. She told him she did not smoke and continued to walk toward her door. He grabbed her from behind and dragged her to her car and forced her into the passenger seat. He brandished a handgun as he drove away, the victim said.
