Judge sentences man to 1 year for not obeying Warren officer

In a separate case, a drug dealer was sentenced to three years in prison.
WARREN -- Paul Pollis will spend a year in prison for failing to obey the order or signal of a Warren police officer.
Pollis, 40, of Hoffman Circle, Warren, received his sentence Tuesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. The sentencing was delayed by one week by his failure to appear last week.
Judge Andrew Lo1gan said Pollis surrendered at the jail last week after the judge issued a warrant for his arrest for missing court. Judge Logan said the delay did not affect Pollis' sentence.
Pollis pleaded guilty to the offense Feb. 5. Prosecutors said police chased him on Market Street near Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital on Feb. 23, 2006. A Warren police officer identified Pollis as the driver and tried to apprehend him, but the vehicle got away.
Pollis could have received probation or between one and five years in prison and a 10,000 fine. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and placed on five years of supervision probation in March 2006. He showed up unannounced at the Howland police chief's house in May 2005 and was found to have a handgun between the driver's seat and the console of his car.
Drug sentencing
Judge Logan also sentenced Jason Washington to three years in prison for being part of the central Trumbull County drug ring interrupted by the Trumbull Ashtabula and Geauga Law Enforcement Task Force in 2005.
Washington, 31, with addresses on Terra Alta Street and Summit Street, Warren, pleaded guilty in January to trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, one count of possession of drugs, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
In his plea agreement, Washington agreed to pay a fine of 10,000 and forfeit 4,030 in cash.
Washington is among seven Trumbull County residents who were charged after a yearlong investigation dubbed Operation Green Tree. Most of the seven have been sentenced.
