Ryan to testify on China's financing of its military

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, will testify Thursday before the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission on China's military modernization. Ryan's testimony will take place between 8:30 and 10 a.m.

The hearing is going to examine China's capacity to wage war.

Ryan will be speaking on China's use of large currency reserves to finance one of the most rapid military modernizations in world history, according to a press release from his office.
