Campbell man arrested after walking out of hospital

YOUNGSTOWN — The Campbell man accused of ramming two cruisers with a stolen pickup to avoid capture walked away from St. Elizabeth Health Center and was found at a transmission shop on Andrews Avenue around 11 a.m. today, police said.

Tim Vari, 54, of Sixth Street was taken into custody for booking at the Mahoning County jail. He is expected to face two counts of felonious assault on a police officer and one each of fleeing and eluding, possession of crack and driving under suspension when arraigned Wednesday in municipal court.

Vari had been arrested at 12:15 a.m. Monday on Applegate Road in Hubbard after a pursuit and taken to the hospital for treatment.
