Minority employment at YSU rises
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown State University faculty and staff are looking a bit more diverse this year.
A review of staff numbers comparing Dec. 31, 2005, with Dec. 31, 2006, shows “another positive trend” in minority employment, said Steve Lucivjansky, manager of labor relations and director of classified staff relations for the university.
He recently presented a summary of staffing by race and gender to the YSU Board of Trustees.
The most noticeable change is in the number of black employees, which rose by eight. That number includes five faculty members, one classified employee and two professional/administrative staff members.
