FIESOLE, Italy -- Chiesa SS. Crocifisso di Fontelucente in Fiesole was the setting Feb. 24 as Christen Claire Rhodes and David Nicholas Machak were united in marriage.
Parents of the bride are Gretchen and David Rhodes of Rancho Murieta, Calif., and the groom is a son of Casey and Greg Machak of Niles.
The bride's sister, Katie Rhodes, served as honor attendant, and performing the duties of best man was Grant Gryska.
After a reception at the Villa il Garofalo in Florence, Italy, the couple left for a honeymoon in Rome.
They were also honored March 24 during a reception at the Avalon Inn and Resort in Howland.
The bride graduated from Denison University in Granville and George Washington University in Washington, and is employed by the U.S. Department of State.
The groom, also a graduate of Denison, is employed in the Washington office of Congressman John Lewis.
They live in Arlington, Va.
