Bomb scare closes school in Bristolville

BRISTOLVILLE -- About 800 Bristol School District pupils will return to classes Monday after a bomb scare closed down the school Friday morning.
High school principal Gene Jones said no explosive device was found by mid-afternoon, and the search was suspended at the complex attended by pupils in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Jones said the building was emptied when a threatening note was found in the building and turned over to him by a teacher. The pupils were slated for early dismissal Friday because it was the end of the grading period and were bused home after being evacuated.
On the scene were members of the county sheriff's office, Bristol Volunteer Fire Department, Cleveland Police Department Bomb Squad and Trumbull County Hazardous Materials Team.
Jones said that if the person responsible for making the threat is found, he or she will be dealt with to the full extent of school policy and the law.
