Greenville company hopesto get out of bankruptcy
NEW YORK -- Werner Holding Co. said a U.S. bankruptcy judge approved the company's request to select Black Diamond Capital Management and Brencourt Advisors LLC as the lead bidder to buy the company's assets for about 265 million.
The sale, which includes the forgiveness of debt and assumption of liabilities, will allow the company's operations to emerge from bankruptcy protection in May, said Werner, a Greenville, Pa.-based ladder maker.
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware also ruled that other bidders could make an offer by April 20 provided the offer is at least 1 million more than Black Diamond and Brencourt's. A hearing to approve the winning bidder is set for April 25.
