Eynon sentenced for non-payment of child support
YOUNGSTOWN — A man who has accumulated a $51,240 child-support debt for his two children over a 17-year period has been sentenced to a year in prison.
Daniel Eynon, 58, of Youngstown, drew the sentence Friday from Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. Judge Krichbaum had put Eynon on five years’ probation in February 2005 for nonpayment of child support, but issued a warrant for his arrest last year when he failed to pay support and report to his probation officer, and that resulted in Eynon’s arrest in a traffic stop last Dec. 18.
Eynon’s son is 19, and his daughter is 18, but Edward S. DeAngelo, the assistant county prosecutor who handled the case, said the support obligation remains active even after one’s children reach adulthood.
