Duke 81, Holy Cross 44
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Duke was steamed after its only loss of the season, and someone had to pay. Once again, the Blue Devils took out their frustrations on overmatched Holy Cross. Abby Waner hit six 3-pointers and scored 20 of her 22 points during an overwhelming first half as top-seeded Duke cruised. Alison Bales had 13 points, and Joy Cheek and Carrem Gay added 10 apiece for Duke (31-1). Freshman Bethany O'Dell had 19 points, but she was one of just five Crusaders to score.

PITTSBURGH -- Tennessee limited the Bulldogs to two points in the opening 10 minutes of each half and Alexis Hornbuckle led a late surge in the first half that broke open a tight game. The Vols (29-3), the top seed in the Dayton Regional, didn't expect much trouble with the 16th-seeded Bulldogs (14-19) but got exactly that for most of the first half -- leading only 13-9 nearly 12 minutes into the game and 21-14 with 2:21 remaining before halftime.
Wisconsin-Green Bay 59,New Mexico 52
HARTFORD, Conn. -- Wisconsin-Green Bay used a huge second-half run to keep its big winning streak alive. The streak is the second longest in the nation, trailing only Middle Tennessee State, which won its 27th consecutive game Saturday. Leading 29-26 at the break, New Mexico (24-9) scored the first basket of the second half. Wisconsin-Green Bay then ran off the next 11 points to take a 37-31 lead on Natalie Berglin's layup. The Phoenix (29-3) extended the lead to 46-34 on Soulis' baseline floater midway through the second half. Soulis and Amanda Popp each scored eight points during the decisive run. Rachel Allison and Danielle Wilson had 10 points each for the Bears, who never trailed, frittered away most of a 14-point lead and pulled away late to dodge 12th-seeded Chattanooga's upset bid.
Notre Dame 62, California 59
PITTSBURGH -- Tulyah Gaines made two free throws with 16.5 seconds remaining after Notre Dame's Charel Allen scored a key basket and set up another, and the Fighting Irish rallied to victory. The eighth-seeded Irish (20-11), making their 12th consecutive tournament appearance, relied on Allen's 13 points and Melissa Lechlitner's 12 to move on to a second-round game Tuesday. Almost all the Bears' offense came from sophomore inside players Ashley Walker (20 points) and Devanei Hampton (13 points).
North Carolina 95, Prairie View 38
PITTSBURGH -- North Carolina needed less than four minutes to open a 20-point lead and cruised after that behind 14 points each from Camille Little and Jessica Breland. Carolina (31-3) also got 13 points each from Ivory Latta and Rashanda McCants.
Vanderbilt 62, Delaware State 47
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Christina Wirth scored 17 points to lead a balanced Vanderbilt attack, and the Commodores pulled away in the second half. Vanderbilt led 43-40 with about 8:50 remaining, but clutch 3-point shooting and inside power helped the second-seeded Commodores (28-5) take control. Raquel Collier, Delaware State's top scorer this season, had 22 points.
Bowling Green 70, Oklahoma State 66
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Bowling Green won an NCAA tournament game for the first time since 1989 and it wasn't easy. Mann's pass to Kate Achter for a layup gave Bowling Green a 64-60 lead, and the Falcons (30-3) hit enough free throws to hang on for the win. Andrea Riley led Oklahoma State (20-11) with 20 points.
Mississippi 88, TCU 74
HARTFORD, Conn. -- Armintie Price scored 21 points and Ole Miss forced 23 turnovers in a first-round victory.
