Scallen-Welch April wedding to be in Detroit

XCANFIELD -- Announced by Scott and Darlene Welch, 4505 S. Canfield-Niles Road, are plans for the upcoming marriage of their son, Eric John Welch, 14335 Wynhollow Downs Lane, Charlotte, N.C., and Meghan Alecia Scallen, a daughter of Tim and Debbie Scallen, all of 897 Lincoln Road, Grosse Pointe, Mich.
The couple will exchange vows during an open wedding that will take place at 4:30 p.m. April 14 at Grace Community Church in Detroit. Invitations will be issued for their evening reception at the Crystal Ballroom of the historic War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.
Miss Scallen graduated from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind., with a bachelor's degree in communications. She is a direct media planner with Doner Advertising in Southfield, Mich.
Mr. Welch, a civil engineer with EPS Inc. in Fort Mill, S.C., earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering at the University of Toledo.
