Traffic fatality on Niles street

NILES — Lia Allison was painting the inside of her garage when she heard a speeding car followed by a crash.

When she went to check it out, Allison saw a older Grand Am and a Chevy van had crashed at the intersection of Fenton and Ann streets.

Niles Lt. Jason Holland said a 28-year-old woman in one of the vehicles was dead when police arrived. Her family had not been notified as of 9 p.m. Friday and he could not release the woman’s name.
