RIDE SAFELY

Safety tips

Ride operators aren’t the only ones responsible for safety. Under Ohio law, riders “must obey all warnings and directions” and can face misdemeanor charges for failing to do so. The Ohio Department of Agriculture suggests riders:

Assume an active role in determining whether a ride is appropriate for your child, especially if he or she is young.

Watch the ride in operation before you allow your children to ride.

Observe the ride operator.

Keep hands and feet inside at all times.

Sit down and hold on to safety restraints.

Obey the ride operator’s instructions.

Make sure there is one adult chaperone for every two children.

Observe manufacturer’s age, height and weight restrictions.

Remain in the ride until it comes to a complete stop.

Stop riding before you get tired.
