WARREN — Carlos Bell, 25, of Niles Road Southeast, was sentenced to two years in prison for shooting a man he claimed tried to rob him.

Bell pleaded guilty today before Judge Andrew Logan in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to a reduced charge of aggravated assault with a firearms. He was originally charged with felonious assault.

The charge stems from the Aug. 25, 2006, shooting of a Brier Street man who Bell said tried to rob him on Feederle Drive. Lewis shot the man as the man fled. The man was never charged.
