Howland voters to see two renewal school levies in fall
HOWLAND — The board of education is expected to place two renewal levies to generate a total $5 million annually on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
The board passed a resolution today to place one emergency levy before voters that will generate $2 million annually for five years.
District Treasurer Tom Krispinsky said the county auditor will determine the millage that is needed to generate $2 million. He said it’s about 3 mills.
The board also passed a resolution expressing its intention to place a second, five-year emergency issue on the ballot to generate $3,050,000 annually.
Krispinsky said the auditor must also determine the millage to generate that amount. It will be less than 5 mills.
