STRUTHERS — A 10-run sixth inning broke up a close game as Dave Sugar upended Simon Roofing 15-5 in Class B League action Saturday at Cene Park.

Mike Hoelzel, Mike Frasso had three hits apiece and for Sugar (12-8). Simon Roofing fell to 8-12.

Youngstown Express 0

Jim Kinnick pitched a complete game one-hitter with 13 strikeouts to pick up the win.

The victory pushed Rondinelli to the second-best record (17-3) in the standings.

Cory McGinnis, Chuck Olesky and Frank Rosile each had two hits. The no-hitter was broken up by a lead off single in the fifth by Greg Brown of Express (2-18).

Livi Steel 2

Scott Smith outdueled Matt Schultz and R&J scored the winning run on a wild pitch. Scooter Hargate paced R&J with two hits.

For Livi (10-10), the big hit came from Bobby Herberger, who drove in two runs.

Youngstown Express 5

John Thomas and Garen Ream each had three hits while Cory Johnson and Todd Finn added two apiece for Wharmby (9-11).

T.J. Rosenberg had three hits and Dan Gallagher two for Youngstown Express (2-10).

Simon Roofing 2

Ed Rohan and Joe Iacobucci of R&J combined for five of the team’s 12 hits and drove in seven of the runs. Richie Tisone and Joel Melnick had two hits apiece for Simon.

YOUNGSTOWN — Everyone in the Youngstown Metros lineup had a least one hit. The Metros scored at least one run in every inning in posting a 11-2 victory over Hickory Friday at Oakland field.

John Mang paced the Metros with three singles, He scored twice and drove in two runs. Jeremy Nomes and Justin Kulka hit three singles apiece for Hickory.

Warren AA

WARREN — Champion Marlins built a 5-1 lead into the top of the fourth inning as it topped Skiffey Neopolitan Dental, 6-4.

Jeff Speck and Lance Townsend hit two single apiece for the Marlins. Pat Stantial hit a pair of singles for Skiffey.

Girard Hardware 11, Reds 8

A game that featured 33 hits saw Girard Hardware score seven runs in the third inning and three more in the fifth.

Mark Brown hit five singles and drove in four runs as everybody in the Girard lineup had at least one hit.

Phil Ciprian, Shaun Balas and Mike Johnson, who hit a double, each had three hits for the Reds.

Jeremy Krol pitched a complete game two-hitter with nine strikeouts to pick up the win. Cliff Panezich hit three doubles and a single and drove in two runs.

Nick Zajaczkowski, Josh Miller and Krol each had two hits.
