AT A GLANCE | Wimbledon A look at Wimbledon, the Grand Slam tennis tournament at the All England Club:

Surface: Grass.
Schedule: Play starts Monday. As usual, there is no action scheduled for the middle Sunday, July 1. The women’s singles final is July 7, the men’s singles final is July 8.
2006 Men’s Singles Champion: Roger Federer of Switzerland.
2006 Women’s Singles Champion: Amelie Mauresmo of France.
No. 1-Seeded Man: Federer, bidding for his fifth consecutive Wimbledon title. Bjorn Borg (1976-80) is the only man in the last 100 years to win this tournament that many times in a row.
No. 1-Seeded Woman: Justine Henin of Belgium, trying to complete a career Grand Slam.
Prize Money: For the first time, men and women will receive equal prize money. The total is about $22.56 million (about 11.28 million pounds), with $1.4 million (700,000 pounds) each to the men’s and women’s singles champions — the most ever at a Grand Slam tournament.
Instant Replay: The “Hawk-Eye” electronic system that allows players to challenge calls makes its Wimbledon debut. The system was used at a Grand Slam tournament for the first time at last year’s U.S. Open; it also was used at this year’s Australian Open.
