Scrappers Live | Play ball!
It's 7:11 p.m. and it's a near sellout at Eastwood Field. There's probably about 6,000 people in the stadium already and there's still people waiting to get into the parking lot. There's a few cars waiting to park and about 50 people who are paying individually to get in.
If you don't park in their lot, you have to pay $2.50 to get in. Yet, if you park your car inside the lot, you could squeeze six people into your seats and still pay $2.50. In the words of WYTV sportscaster Bill Castrovince (who is sitting next to me), "What a rip."
Miscellaneous notes as the game begins:
- There was a jet flyover during the national anthem.
- The AC/DC song "Thunderstruck" was the last song played before the first pitch. I think we can all agree that this song needs to go away.
- The largest ovation during the opening introductions went to ... Cardinal Mooney's own Jeff Hehr.
- The first pitch was at 7:16 p.m.
