Polygraph test held up by nerves

YOUNGSTOWN — While the assistant prosecutor handling the Darryl Adams rape case says she doubts the Adams will try a second time to clear himself by taking a polygraph test, Adams’ attorney says the test will go forward if the polygraph examiner says it can.

Atty. Dennis DiMartino of Boardman said he drove Adams, his client, to the Richfield office of the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation Thursday to take the test, but Adams had not taken his antidepressant medication and became too nervous.

DiMartino said he would reschedule the test and seek a recommendation from Michael LoPresti, a polygraph administrator there, as to whether a person taking antidepressant medication can provide accurate results on such a test.

Dawn Krueger, the assistant Mahoning County prosecutor handling Adams’ rape case said she doubts Adams will want to try to take the test again after suffering a “panic attack” at BCII.
