Guerrieri’s no-hitter paces Yo. Metros

YOUNGSTOWN — Matt Guerrieri pitch a no-hitter with three strikeouts over five innings as Youngstown Metros posted a 10-0 victory over Jamestown Tuesday in Youngstown Class AA League at Oakland field.

The Metros took advantage of six walks, six errors and four singles to score two runs in the first inning, six in the third and two in the fourth.

Anthony Porter hit a pair of singles, walked and scored three times for the Metros.

Tri-County College League

YOUNGSTOWN — Cory Vukovich pitched a complete game as he scattered six hits with eight strikeouts as the Youngstown Metros topped Ohio Trojans 8-3 Monday in a Tri-County College League game at Pemberton Park.

Grant Sevek hit a double and two singles to pace the Metros. Cameron Ciminio hit a three-run triple and scored on a wild pitch in the third inning. John Mang hit a triple and scored twice.

Scott Slygh doubled home three runs for Ohio Trojans in the sixth inning.
