Fire chief to retire
Fire chief to retire
NORTH LIMA — Beaver Township trustees are looking for a new fire chief.
Fire Chief Gary Borman told township officials he intends to retire sometime this year, though he hasn’t yet announced a specific date. The trustees said they will accept applications and résumés and begin narrowing the field as soon as possible.
Borman began his career with the township fire department more than 20 years ago. He become the township’s first full-time fire chief Aug. 1, 2000, after serving in that capacity on a part-time basis for three years.
In related news, officials said they are hopeful the addition to the township safety building on West South Range Road will be completed this summer. The 8,500-square-foot addition will cost a little more than $700,000. Officials said the addition was needed because the fire department needs more space.
$1,500 reward for tip
YOUNGSTOWN — The Kish Law Firm is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the five men who assaulted a Hubbard couple at Logan Avenue and Gypsy Lane early Monday.

“Those five individuals acted like thugs and no longer deserve to run free in our community,” Kish said in a prepared statement.
All tips and information should be directed to Detective Sgt. Brad Blackburn at (330) 742-8268.
