YOUNGSTOWN — City police have arrested a fourth suspect in the November 2006 shooting death of a West LaClede Avenue man.
Police arrested Keith B. Tillis Jr., 18, of North Lakeview Avenue, at his home around 5:45 p.m. Monday on a warrant charging him with murder in the death of Martwain Dill, 23.
Tillis is one of four defendants in the case. He was arraigned Tuesday before Judge Elizabeth B. Kobly, who ordered him held in Mahoning County Jail on $500,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing June 27.
Police said Tillis answered the door when they went to his home with a warrant and was arrested without incident.
The Mahoning County prosecutor’s office is handling the prosecution of the other three defendants in the case.
One of them, Bertrum Moore, 18, of Whitney Avenue, is in trial this week on a charge of complicity to aggravated murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Opening arguments were expected in the case today before Judge Maureen A. Cronin in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
The other two defendants, Gary Crockett, 29, of Buckeye Circle, and Eric Lewis, 18, of Kenmore Avenue, are awaiting trial on aggravated murder charges.
All three men were indicted by a county grand jury in December.
Authorities said Dill was killed in his pickup truck in a daylight shooting at Glenwood and Earle avenues on the city’s South Side.
The gunmen used an AK-47 assault rifle and .40 caliber handgun, police said.
Police believe Moore was the driver of the car used to leave the scene after Dill’s shooting.
