Ragozine fires three-hitter in Simon shutout


Sugar, Rondinelli and Wharmby also posted Class B victories.

STRUTHERS — Anthony Ragozine tossed a complete-game three-hitter to lead Simon Roofing over Livi Steel, 7-0, in a Class B League game at Cene Park Monday.

Ragozine (3-3) struck out five. He was backed offensively by Frank LaRubbio with three hits, and Rich Tisone and Matt Durkin with two each, including a double.

Will Sekula hit a double for Livi.

Dave Sugar won its third straight game as Jake Thomas struck out 10 and scattered nine hits.

Eric Pirtz homered while Jeff Musick had three hits including a double for Sugar. Mike Hoelzel and Justin Shaffer had two hits each while Andrew Grzebieniak and Andy Richey hit doubles.

Luke Rambo, Zach Kepple and T.J. Rosenberg had two hits each for Express.

Rondinelli 11, Roth Bros. 0

Rondinelli (15-3) won its third straight as Cory Nesbitt allowed three hits and struck out seven. Nesbitt is 4-0.

Tony Brunetti went 3-for-3 with a triple, scoring three runs and driving in three.

Zach Jones, Jeff Miller and Adam Hall had the hits for Roth.

Wharmby 8, Livi Steel 6

Mike Conglose had three hits including a double and Garen Ream had two hits and two RBIs to lead Wharmby in a nine-inning game Sunday night.

Mike Conglose and Marc Babyak had doubles for Wharmby.

Livi, which scored twice to tie the score in the seventh, got a triple by Taylor Englebaugh and doubles by Josh Swepiz and Bobby Revesz.

Simon scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning without benefit of a hit, getting a walk, error, ground out and wild pitch.

Frank LaRubbio and Ross Revella had two hits each for Simon.

Dan Gallagher hit a triple and single, and had two RBIs for the Express.

Class AA

YOUNGSTOWN — Zach Dunn had two doubles and drove in three runs, and Rob Tamburro homered to lead Youngstown Tamburro’s past Callahan’s Irish Pub, 11-3, Sunday.

Mike Brown added a pair of singles for Tamburro’s, while Scott McDermatt and Blair Lang both doubled.

Cliff Panezich hit a triple for Callahan’s.

Tri-County 10, Skiffey Dental 9

YOUNGSTOWN — Tri-County scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to get the victory.

Jeff Claar doubled and singled, and had three RBIs for Skiffey, while Ryan Walters singled twice and scored three runs.

First names were not provided for Tri-County.

PI&I Express 0

WARREN — C.J. Morris and Tom Clayton had four hits each for the Metros.

Tony Pozega and Chester Kirkwood added three hits apiece, while Anthony Porter, Justin Street and Jason Davis all had two. John Mang had a double.

Alex Oles and Joe Fox limited PI&I to four singles.

Roth Bros. 10, Reds 0

WARREN — Mike Sikorski hit a two-run homer to lead Roth’s 13-hit attack.

Barry Wardle added three hits, including a double, Eric Jones tripled and Rick Gozur doubled and singled. George Rohan and Joe Bettura each singled twice.

Mark Yartz had two hits for Reds.
