BABE RUTH (14-15s)

Sluggers 14, Line Drive 3 — Joe Aulizia tripled and doubled.
Rizer Group 9, Astro Falcons 8 — Dante Abbas and Brad Ferraro each had two hits and two RBIs while Eric French had two hits, and scored twice. Jim Behnke pitched five innings for the win. For Astro, Sean Gabriel had a single and a double.
Line Drive 11, Wharmby Sports 0 — Sam Porter pitched five shutout innings, allowing two hits, to pick up the win for Line Drive. Mike Lopuchovsky had two hits, two RBIs and a double. Nick Benson had two hits and two RBIs, Carter Hill had two hits and Sam Porter had two hits and two stolen bases. For Wharmby, Cory Augustine doubled and Reese Swatsworth singled.
Line Drive 4, Astro Falcons 2 — Line Drive was led by Nick Benson with three hits, one a double. Dave Bernat, Mark Leone, David Bobby and Dan Popio had RBIs. Mark Warchol had two hits for the Astro Falcons.
Sluggers 12, Bandits 1 — Adam Shrodek had four hits and Joey Aulizia, Brian Money, and Anthony Raschilla added three each. For the Bandits, Tyler Hartman and Chris Kalbfell had hits.
Rondinelli 12, Panthers 5 — Dante Lewis led Rondinelli with four hits while Colin Hart’s two included a triple. Shane Brown had two hits for the Panthers and Tom Vargo tripled.
Wharmby Sports 6, Rizer Group 5 — Mike Tomko’s single in the bottom of the ninth inning scored the winning run. Branden Smith had three hits, including a triple, while Mick Cianci and Reese Swatsworth had two hits. Randy Risch pitched two innings in relief to earn the victory. For Rizer, Eric French had three hits.
Sluggers 8, Line Drive 5 — Joe Aulizia had two triples while Brian Money, Matt Preston and Adam Shrodek each had two hits. For Line Drive, Tony Koch had two hits.
Mahoning Valley Panthers 10, Wharmby Sports 9 — Herbie Hennegen and Tom Vargo each with two hits while Cameron Christopher and Tom Watson tripled. For Wharmby, Garrett Blaschak and Nick DiBartolemeo each had two hits.
Astro Falcons 6, Bandits 1 — John Beatty and Ryan Gallagher led Astro. Daniel Calai, Nick Timko and Joe Mikolay had hits for the Bandits.

Valley Extreme 2, Sluggers 1 — A.J. Hrusovsky and Austin Haines led the Vipers’ offensive attack. Dillon Duchack had a hit for Sluggers.
Astro Falcons 14, Valley Extreme 9 — Tyler Serich and Kane Yakimoff homered for Astro, while Mike Petronic added two doubles. For Extreme, Darrell Brammer had two hits.
Sluggers 8, Line Drive 2 — Roman Salinas, Jordan Burkey and Mike Maillis had two hits each to lead Sluggers. Salinas also had two RBIs. For Line Drive, Noah Hockendoner and Nathan Struharik had two hits each.
Triple Play 13, Sluggers 3 — Zach Llewellyn tossed a four-hitter. Triple Play’s offense came from Ryan Brumbaugh (triple and double), Tyler Gentile (two doubles), James Foltz (double), C.J. Nocera (double and single) and Jordan Conrad (triple).

TRAVELING (18U)

Valley Sting — won the 27-team Compuware Tournament in Detroit. Sting won its pool with victories over the Michigan Batbusters 4-2 and the Mason-Dixon Diamonds (W. Va.) 3-0. In double elimination play, Sting defeated Valley Extreme (Ohio) 8-0, Metro Express (Pa.) 1-0, Grand Slam (Ohio) 2-1, Ice–Riccardi (Ohio) 2-0, and Compuware (Mich.) 4-0. Compuware came out of the loser’s bracket to beat Sting 5-3 in the first game of the finale, but Sting bounced back to beat Compuware 5-2. Infielder Trisha Dreslinski (Ashtabula) made a leaping catch with the bases loaded to initiate a game-ending double play. Sting was led by Markie Pozzuto (Maplewood) and Tricia Bettura (Canfield) who combined to pitch five shutouts. Sting hitters were led by Allie Patton (Poland) with 13 hits and eight runs; Dar Bott (Lakeside) with 11 hits, five runs and four RBIs; Monica Shorter (Chardon) with 11 hits with four runs and three RBIs; and Kari Thompson (Poland) with 11 hits. Other Sting hitters were Chelsea Butler (Lakeview) with eight hits; Jel Pugh (LaBrae) with seven hits, four runs and four RBIs; Pozzuto with seven hits, and Nikka Bonamase (Ursuline) with four hits and five RBIs. Sting is 18-6.
