The mayor returns to his new, improved office

YOUNGSTOWN — With renovation work nearly complete, Mayor Jay Williams and his staff moved back to their office on city hall’s first floor.

The mayor and his three-member executive staff move Monday from temporary quarters on the 4th floor to unoccupied space in the law department. The four relocated to the law department Feb. 1.

The work is part of a project costing the city about $200,000 to renovate the mayor’s office and to improve the 93-year-old building’s lobby area.

The work at the mayor’s office included a new heating and air conditioning system as well as new ceilings, walls, doors, carpeting, window treatments, furniture, and plumbing and electrical improvements.
