Business remains open after fire

GREEN — A 35-year-old township business remains open after fire destroyed a barn and the equipment inside.

Mary Ann Gasper of Gasper’s Garden, West South Range Road, said the cause of the fire that broke out about 10 p.m. Friday hasn’t been determined.

Firefighters from several area departments responded to battle the blaze.

“We lost our barn with all of our equipment,” Gasper said.

The barn housed the equipment used to work the fields of the family-run business.

“Some folks have brought us some equipment to use,” she said.

The market sits near the road with the family’s house behind it. Two barns, one of which burned, sit behind the home.

“We’re just going to keep going from here,” Gasper said.

No one was injured.
