Father's day at the Pavlik house

YOUNGSTOWN — Travel back 16 years to a little house on the city’s South Side.   A 9-year-old boy stands in front of a giant mirror, kicking and punching, imitating the moves he’s seen on countless karate movies, imagining he’s Bruce Lee. Dad watches and smiles.

Sunday is Father’s Day.   At the Pavlik house, this usually means a cookout in the backyard and sports on TV. It means dad Mike’s wife, Debbie, by his side and his sons, Michael, Ricky and boxing champ Kelly at the grill, pretending to be chefs.
