Man shot on Griffith Street

YOUNGSTOWN — A Berkley Avenue man was in critical condition this afternoon after being shot outside of a Griffith Street apartment early this morning.

People who were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting told police that they heard several shots outside of the apartment and Lee Jones, 22, came inside wounded.

The apartment’s occupant told police that Jones was stopping by to use the restroom.

Lee was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Lee reportedly described the vehicle whose occupants shot him as an older blue vehicle with a lot of rust. Police found 10, 9mm shell casings on Griffith and another slug was found inside the apartment’s doorway.

Lee suffered two gunshot wounds to his back.
