WASHINGTON — Monique Currie scored a career-high 25 points, and Tree Rollins got his first victory as an WNBA coach. With the victory, the Mystics (1-8) ended the second worst start in WNBA history, a tumultuous losing streak that included a trade, a player retirement and a coach’s resignation. The 2002 Detroit Shock opened 0-13. Alana Beard scored 17 of her 19 points in the second half for the Mystics, who blew the game open with a 18-2 fourth-quarter run. Diana Taurasi scored 28 points for the Mercury (6-5).

Fever 90, Storm 62

INDIANAPOLIS — Tan White scored a season-high 23 points to lead Indiana. Tamika Catchings had 14 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the year. She became the 17th player in WNBA history to reach 3,000 career points when she made a 3-pointer with 3:48 left in the first quarter. Tammy Sutton-Brown added 15 points, and nine rebounds for Indiana (8-1). Janell Burse led Seattle (4-4) with 18 points, and Lauren Jackson added 17.

Lynx 77, Sun 73, OT

MINNEAPOLIS — Seimone Augustus scored six of her 28 points in overtime and Nicole Ohlde added 18 points and eight rebounds for Minnesota (2-9) which won for just the third time in 21 games dating to last season. Lindsey Harding had 11 points and five assists for the Lynx. Asjha Jones had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Sun.
