FOOD SALES AND DINNERS | Check out local dinners, takeouts

A listing of food sales and dinners is published Wednesday. Please submit information for takeout and sit-down dinners to the Society Department before 5 p.m. Monday.

THURSDAY

St. John Greek Orthodox Church, 4955 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. as a fundraiser for the Ted Conrad Children’s Memorial Fund. Dine-in or takeout meals are $6 for adults and $3 for children.

FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; and bread and butter, coffee or tea. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $4 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 1 Friday, based upon availability. Frozen pirogi will also be sold, and lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance. This will be the last sale until September.

SATURDAY

Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 13519 Woodworth Road, New Springfield, will hold a chicken barbecue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meals include coleslaw, chips and pop. The cost is $7. Takeouts will be available.

SUNDAY

Struthers Presbyterian Church, 110 Poland Ave., will hold a free Father’s Day men’s breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at the church fellowship hall. The menu will be egg casserole, muffins, doughnuts, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. The speaker will be Dave Kohout at 8:30 a.m. and Chuck Brown will be the 10 a.m. soloist. There will also be prize drawings.

UPCOMING

American Legion Post 290, 44403 state Route 14, Columbiana, will hold a wings night June 20. The cost is $4.50 for nine.

Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church Senior UOL will hold a take-out stuffed cabbage sale and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 24 at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave. Patrons are asked to provide containers. Stuffed cabbage will be $11 a dozen. Haluski will be available for $3 a quart.
