A summary of recent criminal activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:
CANFIELD

June 7

Theft: A man in the 300 block of Oak Street discovered several items missing from his vehicle.

Drug paraphernalia: After pulling over a driver for speeding on Fairground Boulevard, police arrested a 25-year-old Canfield man on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension. A suspected marijuana device and papers to roll suspected marijuana were found, officers said.

Theft: Prescription pills were removed from an Indian Lake Boulevard home.

June 9

Drugs: A traffic stop near South Broad Street led to the arrest of a Salem man, 25, after police said they found a jar containing four individually packaged bags of suspected marijuana, a separate bag of suspected marijuana and a partially smoked marijuana cigarette. He faced a felony charge of trafficking in marijuana as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle under the influence.

Criminal mischief: A Jade Circle man reported eggs were tossed at his car and a side of his home.

June 11

Attempted theft: Someone cut a portion of a fence at Miner's Tractor Sales, 611 E. Main St., and tried to steal a tractor.

June 8

Theft: Someone siphoned diesel fuel from a vehicle in the 5400 block of Clarkins Drive.

Criminal damaging: A Youngstown woman reported a juvenile threw a rock, damaging her windshield, as she drove in the 200 block of Idaho Road.

Theft: A worker at Dot's Inc., 6000 Mahoning Ave., reported two women concealed and stole a pair of shorts and a tank top.

Theft: A Maple Leaf Drive man reported the theft of his wallet.

Theft: A woman in the 400 block of South Edgehill Avenue reported a cell phone stolen from her car.

Theft: A man in his late 20s in a black Grand Prix stole $50 worth of gasoline from Certified Oil Co., 825 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: An Oakcrest Avenue woman suspected her daughter of taking $1,600 from the mother's residence.

Identity theft: A Girard man accused his son, 22, of using the victim's identity to obtain a credit card and buy $996 worth of tires and rims at B&R Wholesale Tire & Wheel, 116 S. Meridian Road.

June 9

Criminal damaging: Someone tossed rocks, shattering one window and cracking another at Aadams Appliance Service Inc., 1747 S. Raccoon Road.

Burglary: Someone gained entry to a garage in the 4200 block of Belle Avenue before taking a $115, 18-speed mountain bike. No signs of forced entry were found, however.

Criminal damaging: A Poland man noticed a dent on his vehicle while it was at Greenwood Chevrolet Inc., 4695 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 4200 block of Woodmere Drive found a 3-foot scratch on her car's driver's side.

Attempted burglary: A man discovered someone pried back a piece of aluminum framing and broke a window to his Nantucket Drive apartment.

Robbery: A gunman age 25 to 35 wearing blue jean shorts and a baseball cap robbed Certified Oil Co. of an undetermined amount of money, forced an employee to disconnect the phone lines and fled on foot.

Theft: A motorist pumped $32.34 worth of gasoline and left a Sheetz station, 5499 Mahoning Ave., without paying.

June 10

Criminal mischief: A woman in the 5400 block of Norquest Boulevard discovered a lubricant was smeared on her car's driver's-side door and window.

Theft: A Country Green Drive man reported a briefcase, wallet and duffel bag stolen from his vehicle.

Criminal damaging: A man reported that two people threw a rock as he drove on Benton Avenue, damaging his vehicle's rear fender and taillight.

June 11

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 7000 block of Ruby Court found damage to her mailbox.

Theft: A man told officers someone entered his father's vehicle in the 1700 block of South Raccoon Road and removed an AM-FM-compact-disc stereo system.

Assault: A man and his girlfriend reported the woman's mother spit in the man's face while they were at a Callaway Circle residence.

Criminal damaging: A West Radio Road woman suspected the contents of some packages sent to her husband were deliberately damaged.

Criminal damaging: A man told authorities a BB was likely fired to shatter a window at his home in the 5200 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Arrest: While investigating a possible domestic-violence situation at a Notre Dame Drive residence, police took into custody a 26-year-old Austintown man and turned him over to Youngstown authorities. He was wanted in the city on charges of criminal damaging, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

Criminal damaging: A worker for St. Elizabeth Health Center, 6262 Mahoning Ave., discovered someone removed molding, in an effort to gain entry to her car.

Criminal damaging: An 18-year-old Cleveland man was apprehended after police received a report of vehicle break-ins at St. Elizabeth Health Center. The teen faced two counts each of criminal damaging and possession of criminal tools as well as one count of falsification when, officers say, he provided false information about his identity.

Arrest: After pulling over a 26-year-old Campbell man near Dunbar Avenue, officers arrested him on a warrant from Struthers charging him with aggravated menacing.

June 12

Theft: A Lafayette, Ind., woman reported $50 stolen from her purse while at a Woodhurst Boulevard residence. A 31-year-old Youngstown woman admitted taking it, she said.
