Austintown neighborhood water to be disrupted
AUSTINTOWN — The water line on Norquest Boulevard will be shut off at 8 a.m. Tuesday and will be restored at approximately 4 p.m.
Residents on parts of Norquest Blvd. and N. Kimberly will be affected.
Marucci & Gaffney Excavating will once again be relocating the existing water main on Norquest Boulevard due to a conflict with the installation of a new storm sewer. This work is part of the ODOT state Route 46 Widening Project. In order to accomplish this operation, a section of the existing water main on Norquest Boulevard will be taken out of service.
After water service has been restored, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency recommends that residents take precautions, and boil the tap water used for cooking and drinking; a rolling boil for one minute is adequate. The Youngstown Water Department will notify affected residents as soon as possible when the water has been tested and is considered safe. The OEPA is now requiring that all cities follow this procedure for all depressurization of drinking water lines.
Any questions can be directed to the Water Department Engineering Office at (330) 742-8765.
