MERCER COUNTY Sentence court


Judges in Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced several people last week:

Andrew Shoop, 20, of Mercer-Butler Pike Road, Slippery Rock, sentenced to six to 12 months in jail for indecent assault and possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. Shoop grabbed a woman’s buttocks July 18, 2006, at Wal-Mart in Pine Township. He also was found in possession of a narcotic, court documents state.

Steven Wilson, 42, of Baldwin Avenue, Sharon, sentenced to 16 to 42 months in the state penitentiary for felony retail theft. He was given credit for 177 days already served. Court documents state Wilson was arrested July 11, 2005, at Kaufmann’s, 3515 E. State St., Hermitage, with $400 worth of stolen watches, jewelry, perfume and tennis shoes.

David Eastlick, 50, of South Front Street, Greenville, placed on one year’s probation for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

Zachery Mellring, 20, of Conneautville, placed on 18 months’ probation for one count of misdemeanor forgery.

Shelia Broom, 44, of Parke Drive, Hermitage, placed on three years’ probation for felony retail theft. On Nov. 21, 2005, she stole $58 worth of steaks and candy, court documents state. It was her third offense.

Douglas Gilmore, 22, of East Avenue, Greenville, placed on two years’ probation for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor.

Timothy Hartman, 47, of North Hermitage Road, Transfer, sentenced to six to 24 months in the state correctional facility for one consolidated count of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, a felony. On March 22, 2006, he possessed 22 marijuana plants at a Hempfield Township address, court documents state.

Michael A. Masters, 34, formerly of Covert Road, New Castle, sentenced to six to 24 months in the state correctional facility for retail theft, his third offense. Court documents state Masters stole two mixers valued at a total $780 on Feb. 22, 2006 from Kaufmann’s in Hermitage.

Laura Mae Paden, 25, of Franklin, sentenced to one to three years in the state correctional facility for felony burglary. Court documents state that in November 2005, she entered a rental space belonging to another woman at Sheets Rental Space, 1051 Georgetown Road, New Vernon Township, taking a Christmas tree, jewelry box and photographs worth a total of $130.

Theresa Pursell, 40, of McArthur Road, Jamestown, sentenced to 90 days to 23 months in the Mercer County Jail for one consolidated count of identity theft. Court documents state that Pursell bought cigarettes and other items using several checking account numbers without permission of the owners in November 2006. The total amount of cash and merchandise was $1,116.

Michael Quercioli, 21, of Superior Street, Grove City, sentenced to two years’ probation for access device fraud, a misdemeanor.

Jarek Shankle, 20, of Grace Street, Grove City, placed on two years’ probation for recklessly endangering another person, a misdemeanor.

John Stewart, 20, of Shenango Boulevard, Farrell, placed on two years’ probation for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

Eric Hancock, 42, of Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, placed on a one-year probation for two misdemeanor counts of possessing drug paraphernalia.

Robert King, 33, of 12th Street, Greenville, sentenced to 45 days to one year in jail for procuring a drug by fraud, a misdemeanor. According to court documents, on July 29, 2006, King phoned Walgreen’s Drug Store, 900 E. State St., Sharon, and tried to obtain Vicodin by identifying himself as an employee of a physician’s office.
