McGinnis fires 2-hitter for Rondinelli

STRUTHERS — Cory McGinnis pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and four walks to lead Rondinelli to a 3-1 win over Youngstown Express in the Class B League Saturday at Cene Park.

Cory added a two-run single in the first for Rondinelli.

Calvin Clayton got the loss, allowing three runs on three hits with eight strikeouts and two walks. T.J. Rosenberg drove in Youngstown’s lone run.

Anthony Ragazine went six innings, allowing four runs on 10 hits, walking three and striking out seven to lead Simon Roofing.

Ross Revella and Brad Bates led the attack with two hits apiece. Kevin Koval scored twice and drove in two runs, while Frank LaRubbio, Mike Barone, Matt Durkin, and Bates each added an RBI.

Jeremy Savaet allowed five runs on nine hits in 31⁄3 innings for Dave Sugar. Mike Hoelzel and Eric Pirtz each had two hits in the loss, while Jonathan Brady drove in two runs and Jeff Musick added an RBI.

Matt Tyson allowed three runs on eight hits in 61⁄3 innings, striking out eight and walking one for Wharmby.

Chris Stewart got the save. Garen Ream added three hits and scored twice for Wharmby, while Ben Bectol had two hits, Mike Conglose had two hits and an RBI and T.J. Stoian had an RBI triple.

Kevin McCollough got the loss for Action. Josh Fyffe and Jared Summers each had two hits.
