New Mahoning County recorder is a real person
YOUNGSTOWN — After 32 years working in the Mahoning County recorder’s office, Noralynn Palermo had done every job but one.
Her resume grew to include that last one this week when county Democratic precinct committee members elected the 53-year-old city woman the new recorder.
She replaces Ronald Gerberry — the fifth recorder she worked for — who resigned April 30 to fill a state House vacancy.
“I felt with 32 years experience and my qualifications that I was the person to be the recorder,” said Palermo, who noted she is no relation to former Mahoning County commissioner Jack Palermo.
