Forum nurses again approve contract
YOUNGSTOWN — For the second time in less than a week, registered nurses employed at Forum Health Northside Medical Center and Beeghly Medical Park approved a new one-year contract.
Eric Williams, president of the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association, said the contract was “conciliatory,” addressing job security issues and financial concerns of Forum Health. He would not be more specific.
The contract was ratified the first time on Friday, but the vote was nullified because of what union leaders said was a “procedural” problem that could have led to a challenge of the results of the vote.
Union officials refused to say what the problem was.
Tuesday’s voting sessions were at 8 a.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Austintown. Some 600 registered nurses who work at Northside and Beeghly are represented by the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association/Ohio Nurses Association.
