Boardman couple arrested; son removed

BOARDMAN — A Cascade Drive couple were charged with possession of drug abuse instruments after police were called when a family friend was concerned about the couple and their 17-month-old son.

Both Christopher Bosi, 32, and Janeen Bosi, 30, were released on summonses.

A family friend told police that she went to the Lockwood Boulevard home where the couple and child were staying Monday afternoon to check on them.

Christopher Bosi let the woman and her sister into the home and then said he was sick and went downstairs to sleep, a police report said.

The women located Janeen Bosi lying on a bed upstairs with the boy sitting next to her eating grapes. One of the women described the mother as “very lethargic and falling asleep as she spoke,” according to a police report.

As one of them picked the boy up to change his soiled diaper, his eyes rolled back and he began to gag and cry, the report said.

The women took the boy to their home and called police.

Police rang the doorbell but got no response, so they entered through an unlocked screen door to check the couple’s welfare.

An officer saw a hypodermic needle and syringe on an open wallet in the kitchen while speaking to the couple and a second hypodermic needle and syringe on a bed. A police report says that both of the Bosis had track marks on their arms from injections.

Both were arrested and treated at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

The boy also was treated and a caseworker from Mahoning County Children’s Services took custody.
