Brawl at the Golf Dome injures no one

GIRARD — Area police officers had a busy Sunday morning breaking up a party turned brawl at the Golf Dome on North State Street.

An off-duty officer hired to provide security at the birthday party soon learned that the event really was a for-profit affair that had been advertised on MySpace.com. The number of   attendees quickly swelled to about 400 people.

According to police reports, a free-for-all fight involving several dozen people broke on the dance floor about 2 a.m. The crowd eventually spilled out into the parking lot.

Officers from the city, McDonald, Weathersfield, Niles and Liberty took about a half hour to restore order and clear people from the premises. There were no arrests and no reported injuries.
