Average Joe runs for president

WARREN — From the corner of Market Street and Mahoning Avenue, Joe Schriner stands in his blue jeans with campaign literature in hand.

His wife, Liz ,and three children are nearby — also holding signs and talking to passersby.

Welcome to the presidential campaign of an average Joe who’s been trying since 1998 to be elected to the government’s top job, and logged 80,000 driving miles crossing the country to make it happen.

“I’m running for president of the United States,” he tells one woman as she passes him with a suspicious look on her face. “Really,” he adds.
