Plans for new East Library unveiled

YOUNGSTOWN — A teen room, café, meeting spaces and an early literacy area will occupy the additional 7,500 square feet at the new East Library, officials were to announce today.

Unveiled to the public for the first time, plans for the new $2.3 million library, to be built at the corner of East High Avenue and Early Road, also include space for computers with Internet capability and an audio-visual section, said spokeswoman Janet Loew.

Architect Robert Mastriana of the Boardman-based 4M Company said he hopes the one-story, white stucco building will serve as a catalyst to revitalization of the area.
