Trumbull senior program receives foundation funding

WARREN — The Trumbull Advocacy and Protective Network has received a $30,000 “Good Neighbor Grant” from the Raymond John Wean Foundation of Warren.

“The grant will allow us to improve our clinical and training efforts within the senior service system of Trumbull County,” said Judge Thomas A. Swift of Trumbull County Probate Court and TAPN chairman.

Cindy Miklus, TAPN executive director, said the mission of the agency is as a collaborative between the agencies in the county that serve senior citizens in the area of social services, government, law enforcement, courts, mental health, medicine, disability services, long-term care and housing.

It was formed in 2003 to promote cooperation among agencies to address the special needs of older adults and to advocate for the efficient and effective allocation of resources to meet those needs, Miklus added.
